I really can't stress enough how much these ladies impress me on a continuing basis. The one thing I love about the people I work with is that we all grow with each other, and we are always pushing each other to take it one step further. In my previous blog post, I had mentioned photographer Molly Repetti had gotten in touch with me to do a fall street style inspired shoot. I've been anxiously waiting to post these photos and now they are here! I am the most excited.
I'll post a couple of different photos from the set and clue you in to my similairities and why I specifically chose these outfits for each woman.
For the first pair of outfits we had planned on shooting at Union Station in downtown Denver, I tried to make sure that each set of outfits stuck to the trends for this fall, which are texture and fringe and a slight 1970's vibe. To keep both Kris and Alyssa coheasive when pairing their outfits I stuck with similarly sheen fabrics.
Alyssa is in a hunter green vintage wrap dress, with jewelry from Kitchies Handmade and Ashley Schekein Jewelry. Glasses are vintage Georgio Armani.
Kris is wearing a peach silk tank top and high waisted bell bottoms I bought nearly 7 years ago at urban outfitters. I picked up the sunglasses on a side stand at the pizza hut off of MLK and Colorado,
For the second look I really wanted to keep the colors similar and play with shape. The matching points between the 2 outfits are as follows:
1. The navy is the coat Kris is wearing matches the navy in the dress Alyssa is in.
2. We keep the trend of texture going with Alyssa's vintage fur and Kris's loop hole coat.
Alyssa is wearing a vintage fur coat from Saga Furs and a dress from forever 21 that is at least 13 years old. Alyssa's jewelry was created by an amazing designer Jenna Knopf of Shop Hawn. Who is local to the denver area.
Kris is wearing leopard print overalls with a white crop top, and a ombre navy looped shag coat with jewelry from Rocksbox.com
For our final look I had so much fun doing a play on ladylike textures and classic styles. To have the ladies compliment each other in such different colors I had to use a combination of similar textures and patterns. The heaviness of the courderoy and velvet skirt, the lightness of both of their shirts being sheer and silk, the round shape of the sunglasses, and lastly the polka-dots giving it that final pulled together feel.
