It's been quite sometime since I have posted and I figured it was time to get into the swing of things once again. This shoot was actually broken down into two separate sets since the feel of the color photos is so different from the black and white shots that Maleah had taken.
The manager of this building was super nice and let us shoot on the roof, all though, we still had to tip toe around since we were on a lot of peoples ceilings. Which made is difficult to run (the title implies nothing!
I found the inspiration for this shoot a couple of months back. Tried to set it up with 1 or 2 different photographers, when it finally came to crunch time Maleah Dew contacted me and we both got to talking about the concept and she was just as into it as I was. The mood she evokes from her pictures really made this set incredible(so did Kris's acting skills)!
All of the clothing and lingerie are completely vintage. I was a lucky girl one day when I contacted a man on craigslist about a load of clothing he was giving away out of his loft downtown. I went to pick up and found out his ex-wife of 10 years was big on spending money at bergdorfs, so I ended up with a horde of vintage couture clothing.
We wanted morning light. So we started before dawn with hair and makeup. Maleah met up with us at day break, which ended up being this amazing grey haziness in the downtown skyline. Everything came together so beautifully in the pictures, there are strong amounts of structure coming from every aspect in each photo.
Thanks for stopping by to catch up with me. Part two of this post to follow shortly.
